Penthouse in Cronulla development Oasis comes with unique ceiling pool feature

A two-storey penthouse in a new luxury development in Cronulla is set to make real estate history with a $15 million price guide and an array of unique features.

If sold, the penthouse would smash the previous record price of $8 million for a unit in the popular beach suburb in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire.

The penthouse will be one of 11 apartments due to be built in the luxury development Oasis, a new project by developer Bronxx.

The building will be located on the foreshore of Gunnamatta Bay and a short stroll from Cronulla Beach. It will include vertical landscaping and foliage.

The penthouse or “crown of Oasis” will include a unique pool feature above the dining area.

The glass bottomed pool on the top floor entertainment area has been designed to hang over the living zones on the floor below, creating an unusual water effect.

All of the penthouse is accessed by a private lift. The upper storey will have the pool, entertainment area, an outdoor kitchen and views of the bay, beach and ocean.

The entire outside area is paved in honed white marble which extends up the side of the pool.

Glass skylights above the main balcony and glass doors to side and rear terraces flood the penthouse with natural light.

The other 10 apartments in the Oasis development are set in a unique location with uninterrupted bay views.

The luxury three-bedroom apartments have up to 285 sqm of internal space and start at $5.5 million.

Several of the two-storey or full-floor apartments have pools, wraparound terraces and separate family and media rooms.

Bronxx owner Ciaran Goodman said Oasis was the group’s flagship project and was expected to attract interest from downsizers.

Downsizers’ common demands were catered to with abundant storage space, multi-car garages, pantries and walk-in wardrobes, he added.

The apartments, designed by Vic Lake Architects, also feature floor to ceiling windows and underground secure parking.

Mr Lake said the development would provide owners an “exciting” transition to a “new home in the sky with all the modern day luxuries”.

Suzanne Hibberd, of selling agency Abode Property, said the units would appeal to empty-nesters seeking a location near the water, beach, transport links, cafes and parks.

Luxury apartment developments in Cronulla region attract interest from across Sydney

Sydney’s Cronulla region has been developing into a haven for luxury apartments as home seekers across the city head south for properties closer to beaches.

Multiple high-end products have recently been launched with prices and features that eclipse the norm for the area. They include Omnia, a block of nine luxe apartments with up to 128 sqm of internal space priced from $2.295m to $4m.

The penthouse is 170 sqm and takes up an entire floor. It comes with a three-car garage. Apartment prices in Cronulla average about $850,000. Three-bedroom units in the suburb have a median of $1.55m.

The Omnia units at 45 Parramatta St in Cronulla, 700m from Shelly Beach and 600m from Gunnamatta Bay, were built by construction group Bronxx.

The group’s director Ciaran Goodman said a lot of care was taken to create a high-end product above the traditional offering in the area.

“We have created a boutique apartment building that combines elegance and tranquillity,” Mr Goodman said.

Omnia features only two apartments per floor, two of which are garden apartments. They each have balconies with panaromic views of the water.

The pet-friendly units have stone clad Jetmaster fireplaces, chef’s kitchens with Grohe taps and Bosch appliances.

The Cronulla market has been on fire over the last year, with median apartment prices rising 6.2 per cent to $850,000, with three-bedroom apartments’ median price reaching $1.55 million and rentals rising 13 per cent over the last year.
